Corporate relations

The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering works hand in hand with industry, engineering solutions to the challenges before society. As a global citizen, we are engaged in research efforts that will positively affect American lives and those of people around the world. The University Corporate Relations Office, in conjunction with corporate relations efforts at the college level, remains the primary vehicle for corporate outreach and strategic engagement. The Career and Professional Development Center has an employer relations function that focuses on corporate outreach and introductions to the academic areas.

Companies with a strong ECE discipline focus and a desire to develop a mutually beneficial relationship with the department have multiple opportunities to engage ECE students:

  • Companies are welcome to use the IEEE Tech Talks forum to identify and schedule a suitable lecture for all ECE students.
  • Prior to the Technical Opportunities Conference (TOC), the department hosts a networking event. To receive more information about this event, companies should select "ECE" as a hiring interest during registration

Numerous sponsorship opportunities exist at the department level that create additional opportunities for company-student engagement:

  • The annual Build18 Freestyle Tinkering Festival
  • Professional conferences and events associated with the other ECE student organizations
