Two ECE teams receive 2019 Qualcomm Innovation Fellowship

ECE Ph.D. students Chenlei Fang, Qicheng Huang, Ankur Mallick, and Jianyu Wang were awarded the 2019 Qualcomm Innovation Fellowship. Recommended by their advisor, Shawn Blanton, Fang and Huang were chosen for their proposal titled “MADS: A Machine Learning Assisted Diagnosis System.” Mallick and Wang were recommended by their advisor, Gauri Joshi, for their proposal titled “Robust and Scalable Machine Learning on the Edge.” As Fellows in the program, each team will receive $100,000 to pursue their research, as well as mentorship from engineers at Qualcomm.
