Graduate student fosters long relationship with Department of Energy

ECE’s Bryce Smith has a long relationship with the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE). In his sophomore year of high school, Smith participated in an internship at DOE’s Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory. He has since returned to DOE for a high school research program and four internships spanning all four summers of his undergrad. His work has involved improving solar cells, working on the Gammasphere experiment, developing a camera system that can identify stop signs, and more. Read more here.
