Rajkumar wary of self-driving vehicle manufacturer claims

A number of high profile accidents have brought safety to the forefront of the conversation surrounding autonomous driving and driver-assistance technologies. “Consumers need to be extremely cautious about the claims being made,” says Raj Rajkumar. “There’s a lot of hype.” Despite claims from Tesla and others that systems combining cameras and radar are sufficient for object detection, Rajkumar notes that the company’s technology is still displaying issues detecting stationary objects.
