Bio

Scott Mionis is an Adjunct Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Carnegie Mellon University, focusing on computer architecture education for both Undergraduate and Graduate students. His teaching is informed by five years of industry experience conducting computer architecture research and developing operating systems. He is passionate about analyzing historical design choices, such as those made in the early minicomputer market, to find inspiration for modern architectures. His technical interests further include multi-agent memory subsystems, paging architectures, and optimizing the OS/ISA interface. He received the Outstanding Student Paper award at HPEC 2021, Best Research Poster award at SC 2020, and the E.M. Williams award for outstanding CMU graduates.
