Moutis served as editor-in-chief to an IEEE legacy publication

Panayiotis (Panos) Moutis served as editor-in-chief to an IEEE legacy publication that compiled 37 papers essential to smart grid technology. The IEEE Smart Grid initiative defined this collection as an overview of how technology and policies in the field were born and have developed. Moutis coordinated the review of over 600 manuscripts from 54 IEEE-related journals and included the most impactful full papers in vol. 1 of the IEEE Smart Grid Compendium of Journal Publications. Moutis wrote in his editorial letter that the compendium “will serve as a foundation for future actions, developments and engagement with all stakeholders in the field.” Moutis noted two themes: that fundamental technology and market forces enable the smart grid. Moutis is also the managing editor of the IEEE Smart Grid Newsletter, has long volunteered for the IEEE and holds the degree of senior member.
