Facebook’s scandal with Cambridge Analytica broached issues regarding AI. If engineered and applied fairly, AI could aid in medical treatment, hiring, and translation. However, Datta’s research on high-paying job ads targeted to men more than women suggests otherwise. The use of AI could become discriminatory and pejorative.
