Usage Policy
All users must sign into the logbook when using the probe station to probe a sample. You can skip signing in only if you are simply using it as a microscope.

Standard Operating Procedures
- Dont change the gain settings on the air table. Make sure there are no cables between the air table and the table.
- Switch off vacuum when done.
- Dont change the magnification by the handling the optics. Dont yank at the obective.
- Use the lever at the back to lift the optics before changing the magnification. The 50x objective is easily scratched.
- Dont turn the verniers on the probe tip holders beyond the maximum or the minimum. If you need to move the probe tip holder there is a small lever below that shuts off the vacuum.
