Project Update!

NEW PROJECT CONCEPT

Chameleon is now a rig that lets the user control a spray paint can as it draws a picture on a giant post-it note pad. Due to difficulties in reverse-engineering a modern printer, we were forced to move to a new way of producing art.

MOTIVATION

The user can, by tilting the accelerometer, control the spray paint brush as it moves across the provided canvas (in this case, a giant post-it note). This control scheme doesn't currently exist, and neither does the concept of controlling a large painting.

About our project

PROJECT CONCEPT

Chameleon is a 'brush' that is capable of painting any color. It can change colors based on an artist's stroke speed, or over time. Colors can be chosen from the enviroment with a color sensor or via a phone app. Chameleon is a simple device made to convience artists.

MOTIVATION

Currently for an artist to paint they need multiple brushes and colors. With the Chameleon the artist can paint in any color, through a color picker or color scanner. The Chameleon will suport gradient drawing which reacts to time or brush speed.
