ECE graduate student Chen-Ling (Jenny) Chou won a Best Poster Award in the PhD Student Forum at the 15th Asia and South Pacific Design Automation Conference (ASPDAC) held Jan. 18-21 in Taiwan.
Chou, a member of ECE Professor Radu Marculescu's System Level Design Group, investigates the network-on-chip-based multiprocessor SoCs design, where the global wires are replaced by a network of shared links and multiple routers exchanging data packets simultaneously while supporting a diverse mix of large and small applications. Her poster, "Resource Management in Networks-on-Chip Using Online Learning," looked at several important metrics for measuring network contention and system fragmentation, with the overall goal of capturing run-time user behavior and applying machine learning techniques to system optimization based on different user needs.
