On May 20, ECE awarded 22 doctor of philosophy, 108 master of science, and 177 bachelor of science degrees. Of the graduates, 21 simultaneously completed both the MS and BS degrees. Among the BS candidates, 78 graduated with university honors (a Q.P.A. of 3.5 or better) and 27 with college honors, completing an intensive senior honors research project.
ECE Department Head Ed Schlesinger led the ceremony, which included the presentation of eight awards. The name of each award, the criteria for winning and the recipients follow:

|Outstanding Teaching Assistant Award||To an ECE teaching assistant for extraordinary performance in our teaching program.||Umit Ogras|
|A.G. Jordan Award||To a graduating ECE doctoral student who has combined outstanding Ph.D. thesis work with exceptional service to the ECE or Carnegie Mellon community.||Kim Yaw Tong|
|A.G. Milnes Award||To a graduating ECE doctoral student for Ph.D. thesis work judged to be of the highest quality, which has had or is likely to have significant impact in his or her field.||Jason Thornton|
