October 24, 2003
Over thirty ECE alumni participated in Carnegie Mellon Universitys homecoming last weekend, October 24-26. Graduates from 1943 to 1997 registered for the ECE segment of the festivities, which launched with a presentation entitled ECE Today and Tomorrow. The update on the Department included information on our curriculum, students, research, faculty, and enrollment. Professor and Associate Head of ECE Ed Schlesinger delivered the address.
Carnegie Institute of Technology (CIT) Dean John Anderson was the master of ceremonies for CIT reception and awards ceremony in the Singleton Room of Roberts Hall. He introduced this years student speaker, Jenneca Ward, ECE Senior and President of the National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE), who reflected upon the rigors of an engineering education and the valuable friendships she has made here.
CIT staff manned booths for each of the eight departments/programs with posters, brochures, and memorabilia at each station. Alumni mingled with new and old friends, faculty, staff, and students, anticipating a schedule full of University events that would culminate on Sunday.
