Reorganization of Actin Structures upon the Activation of Protein Kinase C
Meigs and Wang, J. Cell Biol. 102:1430-1438 (1986)
Protein kinase C is an important signaling enzyme. Using the activating agent phorbol ester, its effects on actin cytoskeleton were examined in BSC cells microinjected with fluorescent alpha-actinin.
Collapse of Stress Fibers upon Activation with Phorbol Esters
Cells loaded with rhodamine alpha-actinin were stimulated with a phorbol ester. The treatment first induced transient ring shaped membrane ruffles, followed by the collapse of stress fibers. Recording time, 105 min.
