WinECE Spring Dinner

Women in ECE (WinECE) kicked off their spring programming with a dinner presentation in the Singleton Room of Roberts Engineering Hall. ECE sophomore Jenn Petersen, a member of WinECE's executive committee social activities team, served as the master of ceremonies. The keynote speaker, Suzanne Plummer, an engineer with Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) in Austin, Texas, discussed her career as woman in engineering. During the evening, students learned about opportunities to become involved, including the WinECE mentoring program, and volunteering for National Engineer's Week at the Carnegie Science Center.

Carol Young, Carnegie Institute of Technology (CIT) Career Consultant and Assistant Director of the Career Center, and Susan Farrington, WinECE advisor and ECE Director of Alumni and Student Relations, invited everyone to a professional skills workshop featuring the Myers-Briggs personality assessment. Anne Swift, founder and president of Young Inventors International, spoke on her upcoming entrepreneurial lecture on campus, and the Inventing the Future Conference at MIT.
