Current Events

WinECE has several signature events that occur each year. At the beginning of each semester, new and returning members are invited to attend a welcome dinner. In the fall, the keynote speaker is a woman in academe who talks about her career and research. In the spring, the speaker is usually a woman engineer or executive from industry who talks candidly about her career development, her work environment and often provides helpful tips on personal and professional success. In addition to these two events, an end of year "Garden Party" is held outside to welcome spring and celebrate the women in ECE who will soon be graduating with B.S., M.S. or Ph.D. degrees. During the year, a variety of social, professional and mentoring events are organized.

Mentoring Event 02

This mentoring session will serve as a means for 18-100 girls to discuss course-decisions prior to registration. Snacks will be served (pumpkin cookies!).

Mentoring Event 01

The event is organized to provide a friendly environment in which 18-100 girls can talk about ECE and CMU in general. Board games will be provided as well as food and refreshments. All members of WinECE are invited to join us.
