Other Activities

  • Founder and president of the Romanian Students' Association (RSA)

RSA is an organization aiming to organize social, cultural, and educational activities that can provide a basis for consolidation of fellowship among its members; to welcome newly arrived or prospective CMU Romanian students and provide to them assistance and information about life in Pittsburgh and events organized by RSA; and to disseminate information about Romanian culture to interested students.

    (from the Constitution of RSA-CMU)

  • President of the ECE Graduate Student Organization (EGO)
EGO is an organization concerned with the quality of graduate student life in the ECE department at Carnegie Mellon University. As the elected president of EGO, I am trying to give students in our department enough opportunities to participate in social events and to communicate with each other, thus making the work environment in ECE more pleasant.
  • Volunteer for the Pittsburgh Council for International Visitors (PCIV)
PCIV is a nonprofit organization whose vocation is to build inter-cultural bridges, to present the American culture to international students and visitors and, most of all, to bring people together. In the past, I have volunteered to help with the organization of the traditional PCIV Potluck Dinner. I was also one of the first members of PCIV Friends, a growing e-community which helps the PCIV members to keep in touch and to organize various events.
  • Climbing, hiking, backpacking and other fun stuff
I am a member of the CMU Explorer's Club and an ex-member of Binet Montagne, its analogue from the Ecole Polytechnique.
