I am Professor and Associate Department Head of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Carnegie Mellon University. (My official webpage.) I hold a courtesy appointment in the Computer Science Department. My research interests are in computer architecture and high-level hardware description and synthesis. I received my Ph.D. in EECS from MIT in 2000 (S.M., 1994). I received my B.S. in EECS from UC Berkeley in 1992.
I am affiliated with CALCM, CSSI and CyLab. I direct the ITRI Lab@CMU and the OpenSPARC Center of Excellence at Carnegie Mellon.
I am teaching 18-200: Emerging Trends in Electrical and Computer Engineering this Fall. I regularly teach ECE 18-447: Introduction to Computer Architecture in the Spring semesters.
I am general co-chair for ASPLOS 2010 (with Todd Mowry, CMU) next March in Pittsburgh, PA.
