I am Professor and Associate Department Head of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Carnegie Mellon University. (My official webpage.) I hold a courtesy appointment in the Computer Science Department. My research interests are in computer architecture and high-level hardware description and synthesis. I received my Ph.D. in EECS from MIT in 2000 (S.M., 1994). I received my B.S. in EECS from UC Berkeley in 1992.

I co-direct CALCM, and I am affiliated with CSSI and CyLab. I lead the OpenSPARC Center of Excellenceat Carnegie Mellon.

I teach ECE 18-447: Introduction to Computer Architecture in the Spring semesters.

I am co-organizing the 2009 Memocode Co-Design Contest (with Forrest Brewer, UCSB) and the 2009 Memocode Conference (with Rajesh Gupta, UCSD) this July in Cambridge, MA.

I am co-general chair for ASPLOS 2010 (with Todd Mowry, CMU) next March in Pittsburgh, PA.

I am recruiting a postdoc researcher with strong background in hands-on hardware design and implementation. Please contact me if you are interested. Please use the subject "SPIRAL HW Postdoc" in your email. Please include a CV in PDF.
