 +=====Exam Regrades=====
 +
 +Students bring 3 kinds of exam regrades.
 +
 +  * The first kind is where the student, with the benefit of the answer key, still holds technical misconceptions or one of the above [[https://users.ece.cmu.edu/~jhoe/doku/doku.php?id=advice_column#responding_to_an_exam_question |fallacies]].
 +  * The second kind is where the course staff made a mistake.  These mistakes are not randomly distributed.  "Good answers" are very easy to recognize; we rarely mess up on an on-the-point answer.  If you encounter this scenario, in addition to getting your points back, double check if your answer is misleading somehow.  You can have a correct but bad answer.
 +  * The most common regrades by far are appeals on "wobbler" answers that are not entirely right or wrong.  A lot of subjectivity is involved in inferring what the student really know or really meant.  If you encounter this scenario, you should focus on understanding why you are not complete right and not how many points you deserve for being not completely wrong.
 +
 +If find yourself a frequent victim of regrades, realize it could be a reflection of you. You should discuss your answers more deeply with the TA or the instructor.  There is more to be gained than point adjustments.
