Introduction
Welcome to the web site for the Carnegie Mellon IEEE Student chapter. We are a student-run organization within the Department of Electrical and computer Engineering (ECE) at Carnegie Mellon University (CMU). We host several meetings and social events during the semester including “Technical Talks” from engineers at various technical companies and social events for our members to get to know each other. Feel free to stop by one of our events to see what we are all about.
Guest Speakers
One of the most important functions of our chapter is our “Technical Talk” seminar series. The main purpose of this series is showcase engineers who are working on interesting projects in industry. The talks are designed to be technical in nature—not simply recruiting presentations. We find that the provide an excellent tool for companies to attract student interest in full-time and internship positions. They also serve to give students a clear perspective of what they can do with their degree.
If you are interested in speaking at Technical Talk, please an email message to our chapter leadership. If you are currently scheduled for a technical talk, you can find directions to Hamerschlag Hall and other useful information at the ECE Visitors Page.
