CALL FOR PAPERS – NEW DATES! October 8th and 9th, 2013
We invite presentations, which will support modeling, analysis and design tools for enabling reduction of the environmental footprint of U.S. electric energy systems and a lower long-term cost both to customers and to society. Technical, policy and business solutions in support of deploying smart grid technologies at value are of particular interest.
As part of the conference, the EESG team (http://www.eesg.ece.cmu.edu/) will present possible U.S. continental solutions for scaling up green, low-cost smart grid techniques modeled and simulated for the Azores Islands, Portugal. Real data, models, and design objectives will be presented, along with an explanation of what data is available to the research community.
Finally, we will hold a discussion of R&D needs for catalyzing deployment of technologies at value to modernize electric energy systems operation and planning. Technical, policy and business solutions are needed to overcome today's roadblocks to innovation. Papers are invited to propose such solutions. Specific pragmatic proposals for moving forward are encouraged.
