3D Audio (Spatial Audio) Rendering in a Two Speaker/Headphone Environment

Proposal:

We are going to attempt to render a monophonic audio stream into a virtual

3D environment. This will entail more of research effort than a straight

coding/standard implementation. We plan to perform a literature search to

study the methods used in 3D audio rendering. We will then attempt to

implement these algorithms in software, probably using MATLAB. Finally,

we hope to develop test environment for our system and test the

perceptual performance of our design on several subjects.
