The Motivation

Have you ever been writing up a concepts proof only to lose all your work after a janitor kicks you out of Gates? Or have you ever wanted to collaborate on a whiteboard in realtime with your friend, only they're on the other side of the country at an interview? With Dryplt you no longer have to worry! All writing is saved automatically and can be streamed in realtime to another Dryplt anywhere in the world!

 

The Requirements

Base

• The system shall indicate to the user when the modules are positioned in such a way that they can track the pen.
• The system shall record all pen movements with a resolution great enough to support reproducing handwriting and save them to non-volatiles storage for later reproduction.
• The system shall provide a simple interface to select whether to reproduce a saved drawing or to start a new drawing.
• The system should not interfere with the user's ability to use the whiteboard.
• The system's four modules should combine into a single, aesthetically pleasing module.
• The system should be able to operate on battery for at least 1 hour.

Stretch

• The system shall provide a method to erase system generated pen strokes.
• The system shall output recorded pen strokes in a common file format for consumption by a computer.
• The system shall interface with a phone/tablet application that allows the actuated pen to be manipulated on a "virtual whiteboard."
• The system should provide a method to charge all modules simultaneously.
