Flaky Conferences
I get a lot of email (OK, spam) about
conferences that apparently exist just for resume-stuffing. The
signatures are (1) incredibly broad and high-concept topics (2) a
promise to publish your "refereed" paper and (3) no actual need to
attend the conference. Now there's no point in sending email to
these guys to get off the mailing list, they don't care. However I CAN
list the conferences and the email addresses so everyone can find them.
Send as much email as you can to the addresses below.
This will be updated periodically. Don't tell me about more of these
things, I already know. I'm on their list.
1. SECOND GLOBAL STUDIES CONFERENCE
"In addition, the Conference
will also include numerous paper, workshop and colloquium presentations
by practitioners, teachers and researchers. We would particularly like
to invite you to respond to the Conference Call-for-Papers. Presenters
may choose to submit written papers for publication in the fully
refereed Global Studies Journal. If you are unable to attend the
Conference in person, virtual registrations are also available which
allow you to submit a paper for refereeing and possible publication in
this fully refereed academic Journal, as well as access to the
electronic version of the Conference proceedings."

2. 13th World Multi-Conference on Systemics, Cybernetics, and
Informatics
This conference is so high-concept that the announcement doesn't even
mention the topic or title.
