Instrumental
Measurement and
Post Assembly
Level Energy
Reduction
The I.M.P.A.L.E.R. project has two main goals. The first being
to create an easy to use instruction level power profiling system for any
generic processor. This is accomplished using custom monitoring hardware
that communicates with a test programming running on the target processor.
Once this profile is generated we hope to develop a method for optimizing
already assembled executables such that they are more power efficient incurring
only a controllable performance loss.
