Student feedback and participation

The department places significant value on obtaining feedback from the students in order to review and improve the services it provides. The feedback is obtained through both formal and informal channels that, for example, include:

Student Advisory Council (SAC)

The ECE SAC is a volunteer student organization that provides feedback to the Department regarding educational and student issues and concerns. For example, SAC organizes semesterly Town Hall meetings. SAC organizes a "Take Your Advisor To Lunch" program, in which advisors and their advisees go to lunch, sponsored by the Department.

Institute of Electronics and Electrical Engineers (IEEE)

The ECE Department has an active student branch of the IEEE that sponsors a number of activities, including:

The Department pays for the first year's IEEE membership for all incoming Electrical and Computer Engineering sophomores in order to encourage early professional fraternalism.

Eta Kappa Nu

The Sigma Chapter of Eta Kappa Nu in ECE honors undergraduate students with excellent academic records, and, each year at Commencement, honors an ECE faculty member with an Outstanding Teaching Award. ETA Kappa Nu also sponsors a number of activities including:
