Undergraduate Program Tour

Program Administration

The Department maintains an integrated undergraduate office staff, including the Associate Department Head, the Assistant for Undergraduate Education, and the Undergraduate Program Assistant. Each of these individuals has a well-defined role and responsibility to maintain the operation of the undergraduate program, and to provide students with course selection and program and career advice. All these individuals maintain an "open door" policy and make themselves available at any time to meet with students on a one-on-one basis. In addition there are regular meetings and events scheduled throughout the year.

The Undergraduate Office hosts an orientation for incoming sophomores in the Spring before Fall registration to help these students, who are new to the department, with course choices.

The details of the curriculum are summarized for the students in the ECE Academic Guide. Students can also reference the Carnegie Mellon Undergraduate Catalog, which is updated on a regular basis. These tools aid the students in registering for courses, through an efficient online registration system.

The Assistant for Undergraduate Education serves as a centralized resource for registration, co-op, internship and career information, along with walk-in advice. The Assistant for Undergraduate Education hosts informational meetings regarding co-operative education, international education, the Integrated Master's/Bachelor (IMB) program, and career opportunities.

An online academic audit is available to all students. Students can view their completed courses and see how they are fulfilling the curricular requirements for certification.
