The Trinetra Project is a software and systems development project which aims to make some everyday activities more accessible to disabled persons through the use of mobile and embedded technologies. In the past semester, I developed part of a public transportation notification system which allows a disabled person to determine the current location of a bus and be automatically notified when the bus approaches a given stop. This semester I intend to finish the development and testing of the system and also begin a research project concerning the real-world use of this system and perhaps scaling to use by the general public. I have considered several topics for this research, including security and scalability. A final topic will be chosen at a later date.
