Recent Carnegie Mellon University in Silicon Valley graduates Harry Chan-Maestas (MS ECE ’13) and Arjun Arthreya (MS SE ’13) received the Best Student Paper Award at the 11th annual IEEE Consumer Communications and Networking Conference (CCNC). Their paper, “Energy-Governed Resilient Networked Systems” looked into the issue of how the internet uses and manages power as researchers develop more capabilities for connected devices and find new ways for sensors to share data in all kinds of environments.
Co-authors on the paper included Bob Iannucci, associate dean and director of the Silicon Valley campus; Assistant Research Professor Patrick Tague; and Associate Professor of the Practice, Ed Katz.
