Alum receives Outstanding Young Engineering Award from IEEE PES

Dr. Le Xie, CMU ECE alum, has been awarded the 2017 Outstanding Young Engineering Award from the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) Power & Energy Society (PES) for his research in power systems analytics and big data. The award recognizes researchers of 35 years of age or under for their leadership in the engineering world; it includes a $2,000 scholarship, a plaque, and a travel stipend to attend the PES meeting and awards ceremony held in Chicago in July. Only one recipient is selected each year. Xie graduated from CMU with a doctoral degree in ECE, going on to work with ISO-New England Inc. and Edison Mission Energy; he now serves as an associate professor in Texas A&M University’s Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering. Congratulations to Dr. Xie for receiving such an honor!
