Narasimhan to speak on U.S. Olympic Committee Panel

Priya Narasimhan, a professor of electrical and computer engineering at Carnegie Mellon University, will speak at the 2015 Connect Sports Marketplace, an annual sports tourism conference scheduled to be held August 25 - 29 in Pittsburgh, PA. Narasimhan will be speaking on the U.S. Olympic Committee Panel regarding best practices for their National Governing Bodies (NGB).

This event brings together national governing bodies, sports planners and rights holders, suppliers and experts in sports events for three days of general sessions, best practice breakouts, roundtables, workshops, pre-set appointments and networking. 

Professor Narasimhan is the CEO and Founder of YinzCam, Inc., a Carnegie Mellon spin-off mobile app company specializing in creating applications for professional sports teams and sport venues. Originally founded to monitor National Hockey League games, YinzCam quickly became popular among other professional sports leagues, including; the National Football League, the National Basketball Association, the National Rugby League, the National Collegiate Athletic Association and the Canadian Football League.

“It is extremely important that fans get instant visualization of the entire game, and can stay in touch with the real-time game action, anytime, anywhere," said Narasimhan. "This technology gives fans access to player bios, a depth chart and real-time stats, player by player, drive by drive," she said.

As of January 2014, YinzCam’s software had been downloaded over 700,000 times. The applications offer real-time statistics, multimedia, streaming radio and social media. The live video technology offering instant replay, including NFL RedZone, is offered within sports venues.
