Larry Pileggi, the Tanoto Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering and director of the FCRP Center for Circuit and System Solutions (C2S2), has received the 2010 IEEE Circuits and Society Mac Van Valkenburg Award. Named for distinguished electrical engineering professor Mac Van Valkenburg, the award honors an individual for outstanding technical contributions and distinguishable leadership in a field within the scope of the CAS Society. The award is based on the quality and significance of contribution and continuity of technical leadership. Specifically, Pileggi was cited for "seminal contributions to VLSI interconnect modeling, analysis and optimization via model order reduction methods, and the dissemination of this work into the industrial community and engineering curriculum." The award was announced at the IEEE International Symposium on Circuits and Systems, held recently in Paris. For more on Pileggi's work, visit www.ece.cmu.edu/~pileggi/.
