AsSadhan selected as a King Abdullah Scholar

ECE graduate student Basil AsSadhan was selected as a King Abdullah Scholar with the King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST). An award ceremony was held on April 5th in Washington, DC to award AsSadhan and 16 other PhD students in the U.S. and Europe. AsSadhan is an advisee of ECE Professor José Moura.

104 applicants applied for the scholarship from 45 different universities. AsSadhan was the only one selected from CMU. The scholarship benefits include research funding, tuition, living stipend, and travel for up to four years and all travel costs associated with participation in KAUST-sponsored enrichment activities.

KAUST is a new university that is currently being established in Saudi Arabia as an international, graduate-level research university dedicated for advancing scientific achievements in the Saudi Arabia and the region. KAUST is planned to be merit-based and to recruit men and women from around the world.

Basil AsSadhan was recently selected as a King Abdullah Scholar with the King Abdullah University of Science and Technology.
