Blanton and Koopman Named Senior Members of ACM

October 1, 2007

ECE faculty members Shawn Blanton and Philip Koopman were named Senior Members of the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM). They are two of only 57 recipients worldwide to achieve Senior Member status in 2007. Carnegie Mellon is the only university to have two faculty elevated to Senior Member this year.

According to the ACM website, "the Senior Member grade recognizes those ACM members with at least 10 years of professional experience and five years of continuous professional membership who have demonstrated performance that sets them apart from their peers."
