Tonguz Co-chairs MOVE Workshop at INFOCOM

ECE Professor Ozan Tonguz is organizing the Mobile Networking for Vehicular Environments (MOVE) workshop with General Motors (GM) at INFOCOM in Anchorage, Alaska, May 6-12. INFOCOM, the IEEE International Conference on Computer Communications, addresses topics related to computer communications, with emphasis on traffic management and protocols, according to their website.

Varsha Sadekar, GM program manager, is co-chairing MOVE with Tonguz. In addition to GM, other car manufacturers including Toyota, BMW, and DaimlerChrysler will participate. The event will focus on hot research issues in vehicular communications and networking, such as routing for safety applications in vehicular ad hoc networks (VANET), security in VANETs, vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) communications, vehicle-to-infrastructure (V2I) communications, intelligent transportation systems (ITS), and other applications.
