ECE Professors to Present Keynotes at Asia-Pacific Data Storage Conference

Zhu and Schlesinger Will Give Invited Talks

ECE Professors Jimmy Zhu and T.E. (Ed) Schlesinger will present invited keynote talks at the Asia-Pacific Data Storage Conference (APDSC) in Hsinchu, Taiwan, August 28-30. Professor Zhu, Director of the Data Storage Systems Center at Carnegie Mellon, will give the opening presentation of the conference as part of a special workshop. His topic is "Thermal and Current Driven Noise in Magnetoresistive Sensors."

Professor Schlesinger, Head of ECE, will present a keynote talk on "Challenges in Optical Recording Technology." Schlesinger is one of the conference co-chairs. APDSC is hosted by the Taiwan Information Storage Association, Taiwan; the Electronics and Optoelectronics Research Laboratories, Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI), Taiwan; the National Taiwan University; and the Taiwan Association for Magnetic Technology. The conference will cover a broad range of topics in magnetic and optical information storage.
