Bhagavatula Elected Fellow of IAPR

ECE Professor Vijayakumar Bhagavatula was elected as a Fellow of the International Association for Pattern Recognition (IAPR) for contributions to frequency-domain pattern recognition methods. He was honored with a certificate at the International Conference on Pattern Recognition (ICPR) in Hong Kong. Bhagavatula was one of 15 new inductees; IAPR Fellows are elected every two years.
Nearly 1,000 people attended the conference. Bhagavatula was on the program committee for two tracks at the event: computer vision and image analysis and systems, and robotics and applications (with an associated theme of biometrics).
