Research Professor Asim Smailagic was a keynote speaker at the opening plenary session of the IEEE International Conference on Machine Learning and Applications (ICMLA '04) on December 16 in Louisville, KY. The title of his talk was "Unsupervised Machine Learning and Cognitive Systems in Learning User State for Context-Aware Computing." He presented his latest results in the area of context-aware pervasive computing and personalized cognitive assistants that learn.
