CSSI Participates in DAC; Hosts Alumni & Friends Reception

June 8, 2004

Several faculty and students from the Center for Silicon System Implementation (CSSI) participated in the 41th Annual IEEE/ACM Design Automation Conference (DAC) on June 7-11 in San Diego, again hosting an alumni and friends reception. DAC is the premier electronic design automation (EDA) and silicon solution event; over 11,000 people attended.

ECE graduate students Zhong Xiu and James Ma's paper, "Large-Scale Placement by Grid-Warping," was nominated as one of the sixteen best paper candidates out of 163 submissions. The report was co-authored by CSSI alumni Suzanne Fowler and Rob Rutenbar, Jatras Professor of ECE, Professor of CS, and Director of the Center for Circuit & System Solutions (C2S2).

During the CSSI reception at the San Diego Marriott Hotel & Marina on June 8, guests enjoyed good food and conversation and a unique opportunity for a private session with a palm reader who predicted everyone's future in electronic design automation.

CSSI's contributions to the conference proceedings included:
