A man of his word, Mechanical and ECE Professor Bill Mesner promised to shave his head if 250 students showed up for Different Color Hair Color Day this spring. When 266 arrived, he kept his promise.
Messner started Different Color Hair Day five years ago as an occasion to bring people together for "enjoyment and celebration of our common humanity" and to benefit Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh. Any kind of hair color, colored hair spray or wigs is acceptable and the event is growing every year.
We're also happy to report that Messner's hair is growing back nice and thick for next year.
