Hoe Wins NSF CAREER Award

January 23, 2004

James Hoe, Assistant Professor of ECE and CS, has received a five-year National Science Foundation CAREER award entitled "Microarchitecture Considerations for Soft-Error Tolerance in Future Microprocessors." The award "recognizes and supports the early career-development activities of those teacher-scholars who are most likely to become the academic leaders of the 21st century."

Hoe's research investigates the performance and implementation cost of soft-error protection and develops new solutions to soft-error tolerance in future deep-submicron microprocessor implementations. Hoe's research interests are in computer architecture, processor microarchitecture, and high-level hardware design tools.
