Priya Narasimhan, Assistant Professor of ECE and CS, and Principal Investigator of the DARPA-funded Middleware for Embedded Adaptive Dependability (MEAD) project, won the Raytheon Company Best Paper Award at the Joint Systems and Software Engineering Symposium. The paper, one of the MEAD project's earliest publications, is entitled, "A Middleware for Dependable Distributed Real-Time Systems." The symposium was held April 2003 in Falls Church, VA. Part of the research on this project is endowed by her NSF CAREER award, 2003-2008. This study investigates the trade-offs between real-time and fault-tolerance through middleware.
