The Idealink transforms the handheld into a communal Etch-A-Sketch, according to an article entitled Handheld Crystal Ball in Forbes Magazine. One of five inventions featured in a profile of futuristic PDAs created by tech companies and colleges, the Idealink was designed by CMUs Institute for Complex Engineered Systems (ICES). Its small PDA screen is a digital whiteboard, allowing multiple users to:
* Design sketches;
* Communicate verbally;
* Store images; and
* Replay the process of drawing.
Idealink is already used by CMU students through Wireless Andrew, CMUs wireless network.
