Rutenbar Contributes to Engineering Design Book

Rob Rutenbar, Jatras Professor of ECE and CS; Director, Center for Circuits, Systems and Software was among the Carnegie Mellon professors who contributed to the recently published book "Formal Engineering Design Synthesis" (Cambridge University Press), co-edited by Jonathan Cagan, Professor, Department of Mechanical Engineering, with Erik Antonsson of Cal Tech. The book presents cutting-edge research and future views from around the world in the area of automated design synthesis. Other Carnegie Mellon contributors include professors Tom Stahovich, Mechanical Engineering, Ken Kotovsky, Psychology, and the late Herbert Simon, Psychology and Computer Science. Simon's contribution, given his important early influence on the field, is of particular note.
