Assistant Professor of ECE Greg Ganger and ECE students Jiri Schindler, John Linwood Griffin, and Christopher R. Lumb were awarded Best Student Paper at the USENIX Conference on File and Storage Technologies (FAST '02) in Monterey, California. The paper, titled "Track-Aligned Extents: Matching Access Patterns to Disk Drive Characteristics," was one of 21 papers chosen from a pool of 110 submissions.
David Nagle, Senior Research Scientist, CS and ECE, served on the Program Committee for the conference and as the session chair on Secure Storage. Garth A. Gibson, Associate Professor of CS and ECE, was a part of the Steering Committee.
