Welcome to ECE Day online! ECE Day is an event organized by the ECE Undergraduate Student Advisory Council (SAC) for the enjoyment and enrichment of the ECE community— faculty, staff, grads, undergrads, and alumni.

Day in the Life Board

This has become an important ECE Day tradition. The Board is available for posting notable or humorous professorial quotes, mathematical expressions, poems, haiku, photos, drawings — anything that captures a typical and/or memorable day in the life of an ECE-er.

Event Registration by WinECE

Wrist-band and t-shirt distribution will take place on the first floor of Hamerschlag Hall during ECE Day week, Wednesday, May 2 through Friday, May 4. Bring your campus ID.

Google Map Yourself Networking Breakfast

Where will you be this summer? Gather for yummy breakfast items and conversation. Before coming, tell Google Maps where you'll be this summer.

Pizza Extravaganza

Staff will serve lots of pizza to hungry ECE-ers.

HH 1107 1:00–2:00

ECE Jeopardy by HKN

Answer ECE technical and trivia questions. Official Jeopardy software and buzzers are used and prizes will be awarded.

Grad Lounge Games

The grad lounge is open to all ECE-ers on ECE Day. Enjoy ping pong, foosball, Xbox. Lots of competition; lots of laughs.

ECE Picnic and Outdoor Activities

Charity Dunk Tank

Four faculty and three students will take one for Team 18 and raise money for the Pittsburgh Children's Hospital. The dunkees are:

  • 4:30 – Prof. Tom Sullivan
  • 4:45 – Greg Nazario (student)
  • 5:00 – Prof. Bill Nace
  • 5:15 – Prof. Dave Lambeth
  • 5:30 – Max Beuvich (PhD student)
  • 5:45 – Prof. Bruno Sinopoli
  • 6:00 – Paul Kennedy (student)

Food

IEEE hosted BBQ (hamburgers, black bean burgers, and hot dogs) with all the fixins, yummy side dishes, and EGO furnished desserts. MAC will serve Indian and Asian selections, while HKN will show up with an ice cream cart full of David and Andy's best. Get a wristband and get in line!

Tables and seating will be provided on the patio and lawn.

Other activities

PJ the DJ will be spinning the tunes while you partake in human foosball, volleyball, or Giant Twister.
