ECE faculty, staff, students, and alumni are invited to join us for an enjoyable breakfast and the opportunity to share your ideas in a casual setting.
Based on the World Café concept, which usually focuses on reflection or future policy, ECE Café is your chance to reflect on the department and look toward the future. By gathering ideas from all of our stakeholders, we hope to gain a better understanding of how to fulfill our goals.

- How does the World Café concept work?
-
The fundamental characteristic of the World Café is the rotation of the small table groups. This is commonly referred to as a cross-pollination of ideas, since the ideas expressed at a table will eventually make their ways to the other people in the room. The ideas expressed in the small setting will gain momentum and support as they are spread around the room, constantly being adjusted to fit new perspectives.
Each of the conversations in the small table groups is focused on a question, which changes a few times throughout the day. Since there may be more than one rotation on a specific question, people get to see different perspectives on the same question. Eventually, the energy expressed in one conversation will carry over to another. Again, this brings us back to the goal, to generate ideas and support for those ideas. ECE Café is a way of structuring conversations for powerful results.
