Carnegie Mellon University is located in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The greater metropolitan area has more than 2 million residents. The campus encompasses approximately 100 acres and adjoins a 500-acre city park and residential communities with abundant student housing.
The Electrical and Computer Engineering Department's main office is located in Hamerschlag Hall. ECE personnel are also located in Porter Hall, Roberts Hall, Wean Hall, and Hamburg Hall.
During the year, ECE tours and information sessions are offered by the ECE honor society, Eta Kappa Nu (HKN). HKN student volunteers will help familiarize parents and prospective students with the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering by providing insights into the academic experience, campus life and available metacurricular activities (from an ECE perspective). A Q & A session will follow. Tours are regularly scheduled for 11:00 am on Monday and Friday.
Please note: This information session is for prospective undergraduate students interested in ECE. To make the most of your visit, we encourage you to also contact the Office of Undergraduate Admission. They are your best resource for all undergraduate admission-related questions. They offer both campus tours and information sessions. We do our best to schedule our tours so that prospective students who are interested in ECE have the opportunity to participate in both tours.
