Standard Operating Procedures
1. Check water level in this unit.
-----> BE CERTAIN water level is between LO and HI level indicators!
2. Add or remove water to this unit as necessary.
-----> city water only, NO DI water!
Make sure the lid is now in place.
3. Open brass valve on etch bath behind you to allow water flow to the etch bath.
4. Turn on power switch on left side of this unit.
5. If desired T > 50 C, turn REFRIGERATION to OFF.
If 0 < T < 30 C, turn REFRIGERATION to ON, and set REFRIGERATION level to MAX.
If 30 < T < 50 C, turn REFRIGERATION to OFF until desired setpoint is reached,
then turn REFRIGERATION to ON and set level to MIN to minimize temperature
error.
-------> DO NOT set the level to MAX when 30 < T < 50 C.
6. To adjust the temperature setpoint, press and hold the DISPLAY switch and turn
the COARSE and FINE dials until the desired temperature setpoint is indicated
on the LED display.
Note: If you are at T > 50 C and require a fast cooldown, set setpoint to
desired low temperature, and turn REFRIGERATION to ON and level to MIN.
7. Once the setpoint is reached, do your etching in the bath behind you.
-----> DO NOT do your etching in this control unit bath!
8. When etching is finished, close brass valve to prevent etch bath from overflowing.
9. Turn power switch to OFF on left side of this unit.
** If you turn this unit OFF and then ON again, you may hear a clicking sound. If
this happens, the refrigeration compressor is short-cycling. Please turn this
unit OFF for 5 minutes to wait for compressor pressures to equalize before
turning it ON again.
-----> If you have problems or questions, contact the appropriate personnel.
