Bio

I am a Ph.D. candidate in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) at Carnegie Mellon University under advisement of Prof. Tsuhan Chen and Prof. Peter Steenkiste. Before joining CMU, I was working for ASUSTeK Computer Inc. At the time, I participated in development and manufacturing of various ASUS's well-known products including cable modem, voice gateway, voice cable modem, and PDA. I served as a technical consultant of the Broadband Communication Division before leaving ASUS. Earlier on, I was an alumnus of the Communication and Multimedia Lab in the Department of Computer Science and Information Engineering Department (CSIE) at National Taiwan University (NTU) where I was a member of the Network Group under Professor Jau-Hsiung Huang's leadership. I received my B.S. degree in Information Management (IM) and M.S. degree in Computer Science and Information Engineering (CSIE) at National Taiwan University.

Research
My research interests lie on all topics about cross-layer optimization for wireless video streaming. For more details, please refer to the AMP web site project pages

Currently, I am working toward the deployment of an opportunistic relaying system. We plan to provide video streaming service using this platform. More detail will be posted later.

My previous research at CMU including TAR, a Time-based Adaptive Retransmission strategy that facilitates delay sensitive application like video streaming.

Earlier on, I was working on multimedia conferencing system. We designed and implemented an H.323 compliant video phone prototype with support of an novel media synchronization scheme and an effective task management technique.
